Speaking Truth to Oppressed

Pollution of sense: A major social problem

Nowadays there is a lot of noise about environmental pollution and its effects like air pollution, water pollution, land pollution, noise pollution, and how it can be controlled, etc. But there is one type of pollution that is probably the loudest but we are completely unaware of it, even though we are entirely responsible for it, and that is emotional pollution.

This pollution is discussed every day in print, electronic and social media, but we are so busy filling the bank balances that we don’t give enough importance to the things that are our foundation. In this age of materialism, we measure everything with money, indeed rupee money is a lot, but not everything. In the rush to achieve this much, we have forgotten everything. What are all of them, they are our relations, some of the blood, some of the community, some of the neighborhood, some of the kinship, and some of Islam, but we are incapable of everything.

The son raised his hand on the mother, sometimes because of his wife, sometimes because of late food. Brother is thirsty for his brother’s blood, someone is pressing his sister’s share in the property. What is this? How do we get out of all this? How long will it all continue like this?

It is a very simple question and the answer is also very simple, but we are not in favor of finding the answer. We say, let what is as it is, let it not go as it is, but let it go according to our will. We are believers in a religion in which showing someone the right path is charity, and removing something that hurts from the path is also charity. How much importance is given to the sanctity of relationships there, we have no idea.

Allah has told us in the Quran, “Don’t say even Uff to your parents, don’t speak harshly to them and keep on being kind and generous” But we go out on the streets to fight for our rights in our ego, who should talk about duties. The meaning of the blessed hadith of the Holy Prophet is what you like for yourself, like for your brother. But who does that, everyone likes their locker.

To honor the husband, it was even discussed that if anyone after Allah had been commanded to prostrate, then the wife would have been commanded to prostrate to her husband. The husband has been advised that the money he spends on his wife will also count as charity. Nowadays hardly anyone thinks like that. Talking about the neighbors, Islam emphasized (in the light of the meaning of the hadith) if you cook a curry, make more broth and send the curry to the neighbor’s house as well. Who does that today? nobody.

So then it will not be out of place to say that we are living in a society polluted by emotional pollution. This pollution is the result of our same outdated thinking and greedy nature. If we follow the advice of the religion of Islam in which our duties are discussed, then, believe me, all of our rights will be completely straightened. May Allah give us all the courage and tawfiq to stick to Islam, Ameen.
