KARACHI: After a recent wet spell, the temperature in the city dropped to 12 degrees Celsius on Saturday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
“The sky will remain clear, and there will be no more rain in Karachi,” the MET office predicted.
The weather system that brought showers has left Karachi, according to the PMD. There is no chance of more rain in the city today, but scattered drizzle is possible, according to the forecast.
Winds from the northeast are blowing in the city at a speed of four kilometres per hour.
The temperature is expected to stay between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius during the day.
According to the PMD, the temperature will continue to drop in the coming days.
“In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, widespread rainfall is expected, with heavy rainfall/hailstorm in some areas.”
In other parts of the country, the weather will remain cold and dry.
Heavy rain and snowfall have pelted Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and some areas of Balochistan, Sindh, and Gilgit-Baltistan in the last 24 hours.
Maximum rainfall received in Rawalpindi (Chaklala 85 and Shamsabad 74mm), Islamabad (Airport 78mm, Golra 77mm, Zero POint, Bokra 74mm), Syedpur 70mm, Mangla 76mm, Lahore (Laxmi Chowk 74mm, Airport 64mm, Johar Town 60mm, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Mughalpura 56mm, Shahi Qila 55mm, Shahdara, Nishtar Town 52mm) (Laxmi Chowk 74mm, Airport 64mm, Johar Town 60mm, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Mughalpura 56mm, Shahi Qila 55mm, Shahdara, Nishtar Town 52mm).
Tando Jam received 04mm of rain, Larkana 03mm, and Mithi 01mm in Sindh.
