Pakistani celebrities denounce Imran Khan’s arrest. Since last year, Pakistan has experienced a significant political upheaval that led to the overthrow of the administration of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Nationwide protests have been ongoing, and clashes between the ruling and opposition parties have happened frequently. Imran Khan, the former prime minister, was detained today by Rangers inside the grounds of the Islamabad High Court after a year of legal disputes and altercations. According to reports, he may have been mistreated, especially in relation to his wounded leg, which was fractured by four bullets last year.
In light of these events, numerous Pakistani celebrities voiced their strong reactions on their social media platforms.
Expressing her dismay, Atiqa Odho expressed her thoughts on Instagram, stating, “Imran Khan was arrested while sitting inside the court. Shameful! He was there to get bail but they used the moment to NAB him instead. Chief Justice should insist he’s presented back in court to ensure his safety at once! Any citizen following the law and respecting the courts of Pakistan deserves security!”
