Apple to permanently delete photos in July. All iPhone users must act quickly because Apple will make significant changes to the photos feature in July.

The tech titan announced that the My Photo Stream album, which automatically stores photos taken in the last 30 days, will be permanently retired next month.

My Photo Stream ceased uploading photos on June 26, and all media in the album will be permanently deleted on July 26 — the day its services are terminated.

As Apple will permanently delete photos in July, users can, however, find those photos on iCloud for 30 days after they were uploaded. They will be available on devices that have My Photo Stream turned on.

How can you prevent your pictures from losing?

1. Go to My Photo Stream album in your camera roll

2. Save your pictures to your device or to iCloud

“The photos in My Photo Stream are already stored on at least one of your devices, so as long as you have the device with your originals, you won’t lose any photos as part of this process,” Apple notes on its support page.

If you want a photo that isn’t in your library on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you must save it to that device’s library. However, if you use iCloud, there is no need to be concerned.
