Babar Azam sets another ODI record. Pakistan captain Babar Azam has become the fastest player in 50-over cricket history to score 19 hundreds.
The right-handed batsman reached the milestone while playing against Nepal in the opening match of the Asia Cup 2023 on Wednesday at the Multan Cricket Stadium. He is also the first player to score the event’s first hundred.
Previously held by Hashim Amla, who accomplished 19 hundreds in 104 innings, Babar Azam achieved the milestone in 102 innings.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first against Nepal in the Asia Cup opener.
Mohammad Babar Azam is a Pakistani international cricketer and captain of the Pakistan national cricket team who is widely regarded as one of the finest batters in contemporary cricket. He is ranked as the number-one batter in ODIs and third in T20Is and fifth in Tests.
Babar Azam was born in a Punjabi Muslim family on October 15, 1994. He grew up in the Walled City, where he recalls “playing cricket and roaming around like a free bird in those streets.”
His older cousins Kamran and Umar Akmal were the ones who first drew him to cricket, and their stories pushed him to pursue it as a career.
