PCB officials get show-cause notice for visiting Colombo casino during Asia Cup. Umar Farooq Kalson, the current media manager, and Adnan Ali, the PCB’s general manager of international cricket, have each received show-cause notices after being seen together at a Colombo casino.

In a flagrant violation of the PCB code of conduct, Kalson and Adnan, who traveled with Team Green to Colombo for Asia Cup 2023, reportedly went to the casino for dinner.

Since cricketers and casinos are bad combinations and the world of cricket is still plagued by numerous gambling events, their presence at the casino raised questions.

As PCB officials get show-cause notice for visiting Colombo casino during Asia Cup, amid the buzz on social media, the PCB media manager and general manager claimed they went to a casino for dinner.

This claim is difficult to believe, especially given the strict measures the ICC and PCB have put in place in response to previous match-fixing incidents.

He replied that he went to eat at the casino because the restaurant was closed late at night and he had no other option.

Board chairman Zaka Ashraf, who is currently in Colombo with his family, will decide the future action against two officials as PCB sought clarification and issued show-cause notices.

Given that legendary Australian cricketers Mark Waugh and Shane Warne accepted gambling offers at the same casino, Colombo Casino has a notorious reputation among cricketers.

Moin Khan, a former chief selector, was also fired for going to a casino before the Pakistan-West Indies game in Christchurch.
