Speaking Truth to Oppressed

Power-hungry govt has gone berserk, says Sheikh Rashid

Former interior minister Sheikh Rashid claimed on Tuesday that despite having only two more votes in the National Assembly than the opposition, the coalition government had gone berserk and became spiteful towards the PTI.

Sheikh Rashid stated in a tweet that the unifying aim of all these parties was to ‘disqualify’ former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan and make another former Prime Minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif ‘able’ to assume any public position. “This ‘unbridled’ government has lost its mind.” Political instability, economic ruin, and the reintroduction of terrorism to the country will forever devastate their politics,” he said.

He stated that he would address a public gathering on August 13 at his Rawalpindi mansion, Lal Haveli. In another tweet, he stated that China was Pakistan’s well-wisher and that those in charge in the country needed to recognise the signals from that all-weather ally.

The former minister warned that arresting Imran Khan and causing divisions in the PTI would be the start of a ‘politics of carnage’ in the country.

Rashid stated in another tweet that national security was more essential than remaining relevant in the country’s politics or maintaining power.

He voiced concern that the turmoil in Afghanistan will have a negative impact on the situation in Pakistan. “It is unfortunate that suicide bombings and extortion instances have resurfaced,” he said, emphasising that the government could not force media outlets to broadcast news of its choosing. “Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf had provided licences for TV channels, but this government is doing the exact reverse and closing them down,” he lamented.

Rashid declared that the PML-narrative N’s has died.
