Govt should talk to IMF for relief: Imran Khan
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Saturday that the government should seek assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) because torrential rains and flood waters have wreaked havoc in the country.
Addressing a large public gathering in Jehlum, he added that when COVID-19 hit, they urged the IMF for some relief, and Miftah should talk to the IMF and ask for relief amid floods and rainfall destruction.
Miftah is requesting that provinces pay a budget surplus for tribal districts; how will provinces do this during floods? He inquired.
The PTI Chairman stated that he would continue to assist flood victims while continuing his campaign for true independence for the people. “Our struggle will continue even in the face of floods and wars until we achieve true freedom,” he added.
Imran Khan stated that these are difficult times, but that Pakistan will emerge from this crisis as a strong nation.
He stated that more dams will be needed to protect the country from such floods. “The PTI government had begun the construction of ten dams, which would be operational soon.” Dams would transform this disaster into a blessing,” he added.
In response to the government’s allegations that he was putting the IMF deal at risk, Imran Khan stated, “Miftah Ismail is saying that we want to make the IMF programme fail.” Taimur Jhagra has been calling them for a meeting for two months.
Imran Khan added that his opponents are campaigning on social media that he should not hold public gatherings in the midst of floods and heavy rainfall, but for him, it is not a political campaign, but a struggle for true independence.
Govt should talk to IMF for relief: Imran Khan
Imran Khan stated that the struggle will continue until the country is free of thieves. He will assist flood victims in any way he can, but he will not abandon the thieves.
The chairman of the PTI lamented that no one is willing to lend money to the allied government.
On the occasion, PTI Chief announced the creation of a fund to collect donations for flood victims in the country. “Dr. Sania Nishtar will be in charge of the relief and rescue fund raised through the telethon,” he added. He stated that he would demonstrate to the world how money is collected. “By building a dyke, our government saved Nowshera.” Taunsa city would have drowned if the Buzdar government had not built a dyke there, he claimed.
The PTI Chief stated that overseas Pakistanis have always assisted in times of crisis, whether it was the 2010 floods or the 2005 Kashmir earthquake.
He stated that Imran Khan will appeal to the country’s vibrant diaspora to assist their countrymen during this trying time.
He went on to say that Pakistan was far ahead of India and Bangladesh in terms of development until these two corrupt families took over and destroyed our country.
Khan claimed he only discussed legal action against those responsible for illegal actions against PTI activists, but he was charged with terrorism. They are attempting to derail the country’s largest political party through a conspiracy, he added.
According to the PTI Chief, the government has illegally suspended ARY News transmission because they broadcast the PTI narrative. Due to their fascism, journalists have been arrested and forced to flee the country. He hinted that the inflation rate at the time was 16%, but that it had risen by more than 40% in the previous four months.

People are suffering in Baluchistan, Sindh, and Punjab as a result of the floods, he said, adding that we must all face this test together, as we did in the 2010 floods, while Tiger Force will go to the affected areas and assist the governments.
