In a terrible incident, a rickshaw driver in Sindh’s Sanghar area is accused of raping a girl who had been displaced due to heavy flooding in the country under the guise of a “ration”.
In a police-recorded statement, the victim said that the rickshaw driver had taken her to his house after giving her food from the relief camp. , where he allegedly sexually attacked her for two days.
According to DIG Nawabshah Irfan Baloch, who was speaking to news sources, police have detained the suspect and are continuing their investigation.
He said that the identification of the victim girl resulted in the capture of the offender, who is a rickshaw driver. Police are conducting a medical examination of the victim, and the suspect will be held accountable in court.
Over a million homes have been damaged or destroyed as a result of the rains that started in June and the severe floods they unleashed across the nation.
Due to the prospect of additional flooding in the coming days, particularly in Sindh, hundreds of thousands of displaced people urgently need shelter, food, and clean water.
