Ranbir and Alia donate to Pakistan floods?
A false screenshot appearing as a tweet from BBC News Hindi stated that Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor contributed large sums of money to Pakistani flood victims.
The image has been circulating on social media, where several Indian netizens have voiced their displeasure with the celebrities for showing Pakistani support.
According to the tweet, the pair also promised to contribute INR51 crore to the country if their upcoming film Brahmastra performed well at the box office.
BOOM, an Indian media outlet, determined that the screenshot was false. Additionally, BBC News Hindi emphasized that it did not report the news.

In debunking the false image, BBC News stated, “BBC Hindi has never published such a tweet or story.”
According to BOOM, the tweet in Hindi stated, “Bollywood is an example of humanity and humanity.”
A social media user uploaded the image to Facebook and asked, “Why does Bollywood’s humanity awaken just for Pakistan?” The post was eventually removed.
After the bogus screenshot went viral, #BoycottBollywood and #BoycottBrahmastra began to gain traction on social media.
BOOM discovered “discrepancies” in the screenshot, confirming its falsity.
