This isn’t the first time Mané has shown his religious beliefs regarding alcohol in a footballing setting, as he politely asked Takumi Minamino to lay down a bottle of champagne as they celebrated Liverpool’s Carabao Cup win together in February.
And Mane wasn’t the only Bayern player who didn’t have a glass of beer in hand, as summer colleague Noussair Mazraoui, also a practicing Muslim, chose to decline the drink.
