Work begins at Sindh’s archeological sites
Conservation work starts at Mohen jo Daro after devastating floodsfloods across the province.
After numerous reports were published since the two-month-long devastating monsoon rainfall, which caused flash floods across the province and left the archeological sites, including the ancient Indus Valley civilization sites of Mohen jo Daro severely damaged.
The site is situated on the right bank of the Indus River, albeit after surpassing the water excess, the site remained unaffected, however, torrential downpours caused hefty damage to the site.
According to reports, the Sindh government’s Sindh Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities Department were under pressure after several reports were published of the site being damaged and very little has been done to preserve the oldest archeological site.

All in all, emergency preservation work has been started at several archeological sites across the province, which remained affected by the monstrous monsoon, however, very little has been initiated for conservation work as the province of Sindh is inundated with floods.
