Provincial Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Sardar Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur, along with Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division Aamir Afaq paid a surprise visit to the flood-affected area of Tank and visited several areas including the area in Dabbara Village of Tank where 100 houses with two rooms, kitchen and bathroom were being constructed with the support of welfare organization.
On the occasion of visit, Deputy Commissioner Tank Hameedullah Khattak briefed the Provincial Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Amin Gandapur and Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division regarding the relief activities and survey including.
During the briefing, Deputy Commissioner said, two people have died while eight people have been injured due to recent torrential rains and flash floods in Tank district, compensation checks worth Rs.0.8 Million have been handed over to the flood affected families separately.
The DC said, six teams have been formed under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner for door-to-door survey adding that 1600 houses were completely while around 2000 houses have been partially destroyed due to floods.
Faisal Amin visits flood-hit areas of Tank
Deputy Commissioner told in briefing that 70 roads including three major roads were cut off in Tank district due to torrential rains and floods. Out of which 65 roads have been cleared while work is ongoing on other five, 28 water supply projects in 12 Union Councils were completely affected in which 25 projects have been restored and made functional, 23 health units, 116 female schools, have also been affected by the flood, while around 247 livestocks were perished in the floods.
Officials of all line departments of Tank District were present on this occasion.
