Germany to provide €1Mn to flood victims

Germany will provide an additional €1 million to flood victims in Pakistan as it said on Friday. So, they could get the food, sanitary items, and medical supplies they desperately need.

The Federal Foreign Office declared that it would offer further aid to help flood victims, according to a tweet posted by the German ambassador to Pakistan, Alfred Grannas.

The German Red Cross (Deutsche Rotes Kreuz) is receiving additional cash from Germany to assist the flood victims in Pakistan.

The floods in Pakistan, the tweet said, are evidence of the climate disaster, which is endangering human life.

Germany promised to support Pakistan with €17 million during this difficult moment. The European nation’s contribution to flood help totals more than €18 million after an additional €1 million.

Floods in Pakistan’s northern mountains caused by record monsoon rainfall and thawing glaciers have affected over 33 million people and claimed around 1,400 lives, including children. The flooding, which is related to climate change, is still growing.

The rising flood waters forced villagers around Manchhar Lake to leave their homes on Thursday. According to estimates, the catastrophe disrupted the lives of millions of people and cost roughly $10 billion in losses.

The town of Bhan Syedabad in Sindh, one of the hardest-hit areas, was in danger of flooding, so citizens labored to reinforce an existing dyke.
