PCB responds to Shahid Afridi’s recent Allegations
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has responded to the recent claims of Shahid Afridi which was more of an allegation than a statement. The former captain had accused PCB of not providing medical & rehabilitation facilities to the players. Mr. Afridi, however, referred to Shaheen Shah Afridi’s ongoing recovery & rehabilitation process in London. That the fast bowler was taking the financial burden on his own.
While talking to a private channel, the former captain accused PCB of not providing any medical help to Shaheen Shah Afridi. “I arranged a doctor for Shaheen Shah Afridi & PCB is doing nothing.” The injured left-arm fast bowler was even ruled out of the T20 Asia cup too.
The cricket board responded but with a rather bold statement, not directly addressing the former captain though.
“It goes without saying that PCB has always been & will continue to be responsible for arranging medical care & rehabilitation of all its player’s requirements”. PCB apparently, came out with their stance on Fakhar Zaman’s injury. The all-rounder, got the injury in the final of Asia Cup 2022 while fielding. The cricket governing body will send the player to London for rehabilitation on Friday, Sep 16th.
