MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi expressed sadness on Sunday that India was not giving visas to pilgrims attending religious rituals in Pakistan, while Islamabad was loosening its visa policy for Indians.
This was said by the foreign minister during the 708th annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-final Alam’s session.
According to a report, Qureshi stated that thousands of pilgrims from Rajasthan were unable to attend Shah Rukn-e-Urs Alam’s this year due to a visa shortage in India.
External powers, according to the foreign minister, aim to foster turmoil and instability in Pakistan, and they don’t want “Pakistan to develop.”
“We must obstruct such forces’ progress. Against them, the nation must unite “He was adamant. The foreign minister stressed the need of being unified, saying that society’s developing tendency of extremism was harmful and destructive.
Pakistan’s geostrategic position, he said, is critical in the region.
The foreign minister expressed concern that Muslims in occupied Kashmir and Palestine were subjected to horrors, and said that the Afghan people were also in a state of upheaval.
Pakistan’s objective and priority is peace in Afghanistan, he said, adding that Pakistan’s stability and development are dependent on long-term peace in Afghanistan.
Foreign ministers from Islamic nations have been invited to Islamabad on December 19 to address concerns affecting Afghanistan, according to Qureshi. They are coming together for the country’s development and long-term peace, he said, adding that Pakistan is making genuine efforts to bring peace to Afghanistan.
FM Qureshi addressed the country’s soaring inflation, claiming that the coronavirus epidemic has harmed Pakistan’s economy, just as it had harmed countries throughout the world.
