Babar, Rizwan down Dhawan, Rohit to set new record
Babar Azam, Rizwan, duo amasses 1,800 runs as a batting partnership, becoming the first batting combination in T20I history to achieve this milestone.
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan have surpassed Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan of India to become the most productive T20I, batting partners.
The Indian duo had amassed 1,743 runs over the course of 52 innings as batting partners, but Pakistan’s Babar and Rizwan overtook them in the 36th inning of the second T20I against England when they helped Pakistan reach 18 runs in the third over.

Additionally, they have made history by becoming the first batting partnership in T20Is to score 1,800 runs.
The Pakistani openers have the most over-100 run partnerships of any batting partners worldwide in the game’s shortest format with seven.
They are followed by Indians KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma, who have been openers for years.
Rizwan and Babar are frequently criticized for being Pakistan’s top-order pair. However, the number refutes the allegations that are frequently made against them. They score more than 53 runs per inning on average as a team.
They have scored 1,500+ runs out of their 1,800 total partnership runs since the year 2021 began. In this group, no other batting partner has amassed even 800 runs.
