The Legend of Maula Jatt’s official character posters are buzzing on the internet not only in Pakistan but in Bollywood as well.The film will star Fawad Khan in the lead role along with Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan and Humaima Malik. The film is set to hit theaters on October 13, 2022. The film has been called the most expensive Pakistani film to date.
The Legend of Maula Jatt is an upcoming Pakistani Punjabi language action drama film directed and written by Bilal Lashari and co-written by Ammara Hikmat and Dr. Asad Jamil Khan. It is a reimagining of the 1979 cult classic Maula Jatt.
The film will star Fawad Khan in the lead role along with Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan and Humaima Malik. The film is set to hit theaters on October 13, 2022. The film has been called the most expensive Pakistani film to date.
On December 14, 2013, Bilal Lashari announced in an interview that he would be directing Maula Jatt, saying, “It will be my take on the Gandasa films that will be blamed for the death of Lollywood. I think the Gandasa genre was a missed opportunity for Pakistani cinema and what better choice to capitalize on than a tribute to the cult classic Maula Jatt.” To excel in the role, Hamza Ali Abbasi began with training to work on symmetry muscle, proportion, endurance and cardiovascular health.

On April 4, 2014, Lashari announced that he had just completed the script for the film and was looking for a main cast. He said: “True was appreciated for his stylistic elements, but he was criticized for the script, which is why I want to spend more time on Maula Jatt’s script.” On May 27, 2014, the cast was cast and filming began, which revealed that the film will be in three languages; English, Urdu and Punjabi.
