Transgenders clash with DHA guards
A group of eunuchs clashed with Defence Housing Authority (DHA) security personnel at Lalik Chowk in Lahore on Wednesday.
According to sources, the eunuchs gathered to protest the alleged DHA guards’ violence.
They used sticks to attack the guards. When they were hit, the guards escaped, leaving the car behind. Protesters climbed onto the car’s roof and bonnet to continue their protest. The guards were swooped during the protest, and their motorcycles were also damaged.
The transgender protesters claimed that DHA security guards tortured them, prevented them from standing at traffic lights, and beat some of their colleagues in the security offices.
After negotiations between the DHA administration and transgenders in the Defense B police station, the protesters dispersed.
