Arrest warrants issued for Imran Khan
Arrest warrants have been issued for former Prime Minister and Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan.
The arrest warrant was issued for threatening a judge at a rally. The chairman of the PTI was sentenced for threatening a judge and two senior police officers during a public meeting at F-9 Park.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s media regulator has banned PTI leader Imran Khan from broadcasting live speeches for threatening an Islamabad policeman and judge during a speech in Islamabad.
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) said Imran’s recorded speech could only be broadcast after an effective delay mechanism was put in place to ensure effective oversight and editorial control.
