PTI Senator Azam Swati arrested for speaking against Army
According to a criminal charge submitted by the FIA, PTI Senator Azam Swati was detained on Thursday for reportedly tweeting a “very offensive and menacing message” against government entities, including the army chief.
Following yesterday’s acquittal of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz in a prominent money laundering case, Swati posted a tweet identifying the army leader.

“Mr. Bajwa Greetings to you and your companions. Your strategy is actually succeeding, and all criminals are obtaining freedom at the expense of this nation. You have acquiesced in corruption by allowing these criminals to run free. How do you currently foresee the future of this nation (sic),” he said.
