After losing to Zimbabwe in their second straight game of the ICC T20 World Cup, Pakistani cricket fans are unsure if their team can still advance to the semifinals.
At the Perth Cricket Stadium, the Men in Green were unable to reach their 131-point goal. Pakistan had also fallen to India in the tournament’s championship game on the very last ball.
For the national cricket squad, the situation has now taken a turn for the worst. Pakistan’s cricket team still has a chance to go to the semifinals, though. The green shirts’ qualification scenario is as follows:
First, Pakistan can not lose anyone of their remaining games in the tournament. If they lose another match, they will be out of the tournament.
Secondly, the Babar’s men need to win their last three games by a big margin to maintain a good net run rate.
Thirdly, Pakistan would also hope for India to defeat South Africa. Zimbabwe should also lose two out of three games against India, Netherlands, and Bangladesh to keep the Men in Green’s hopes alive.
Furthermore, Pakistan must be hoping that Bangladesh loses another game. Here are the remaining fixtures:
October 30 — Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, Netherlands vs Pakistan, and India vs South Africa
November 2 — Zimbabwe vs Netherlands and India vs Bangladesh
November 3 — Pakistan vs South Africa
November 6 — South Africa vs Netherlands, Pakistan vs Bangladesh, and India vs Zimbabwe
