The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim on Monday announced the squad for the upcoming three-match Test series against England.
Pakistan’s lead bowler Shaheen Afridi has been left out of the 18-member squad due to a knee injury. He suffered during the T20 World Cup 2022 final against England on November 13. Also, Afridi underwent appendectomy, which is surgery to remove the appendix when it is infected, on Sunday. Shaheen, Pakistan’s strike bowler in all formats of the game, has 99 Test, 62 ODI, and 58 T20I wickets since 2018.
On the other hand, middle-order batter Fawad Alam has also been dropped from the squad ahead of the three-match series.
