The Twitter feud between PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi and prominent TV presenter Imran Riaz Khan appears to be ongoing, as both threw jabs at each other earlier.
Moonis Elahi took to Twitter to say he heard someone’s visa was denied because they had criminal affiliations. Moonis Elahi, on the other hand, did not name anyone in his tweet.
Imran Riaz Khan, a senior anchorperson, responded by saying that he urged Chaudhary Moonis Elahi to name him in his tweet after his visa was revoked. He also challenged Moonis Elahi to name the people who revoked his visa.
“Take the name Moonis Elahi. My visa has been canceled and yes, develop the courage to take the name of those who caused it. Happy to stay in Pakistan,” Imran Riaz Khan said.
To this, Moonis Elahi responded by saying that the tweet was not meant for the journalist.
“Imran Sahab it wasn’t meant for you. Classic example of hawa main urta hua teer” Moonis Elahi said.
Later Imran Riaz Khan came down hard on Moonis Elahi and accused him of changing his statement by claiming that he was loyal all along.
To clarify, the Twitter spat between Moonis Elahi and Imran Riaz Khan began after an interview with Moonis in which he claimed that his party had been advised by former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa to support PTI in the no-confidence motion that ultimately led to former premier Imran Khan’s ouster.
“This is my point of contention with PTI and anyone who calls him [Gen Bajwa] a traitor,” Moonis had said, “he was seen as perfectly fine when he was going in their support and now he is called a turncoat”.
Pertinent to mention that after the interview, Moonis Elahi has been the target of much criticism despite him asserting his loyalty to PTI Chairman Imran Khan on numerous occasions.
