Shehbaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has announced a significant party reorganization and named his niece Maryam Nawaz Sharif as PML-N Senior Vice-President and Chief Organizer.
Marrriyum Aurangzeb, a federal information minister, and PML-N spokesperson made this announcement on Tuesday. She also released a notification that was signed by Shehbaz Sharif.
Marriyum Aurangzeb tweeted a notification that Mr. Sharif had made significant administrative announcements.
“Pursuant to the powers conferred under the Constitution of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, the undersigned is pleased to appoint Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif as Senior Vice President” with immediate effect,” the notification reads.
“She is hereby authorized to reorganize the party at all functional tiers/levels as “Chief Organizer,” it added.
