Speaking Truth to Oppressed

Shaheen Afridi angry with guests for invading privacy shamelessly

Pakistani top bowler and former cricket captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, who married Shahid Afridi’s daughter Ansha Afridi in a lavish wedding on February 3, voiced his displeasure with the guests invited to the Nikah celebration for posting images of his bride without their consent.

The photos of his nikah quickly went viral. A photo of the bride and groom also went viral on social media, and Ansha began trending on Twitter and other social networking sites.

Shaheen Afridi penned down a note expressing her gratitude for their union and also prayed for everlasting happiness.

He did, however, voice his disgust with the guests who, in spite of repeated requests, continued to share their pictures from the private ceremony shamelessly and invaded their privacy.

This is what he wrote on his official Instagram account:

“It’s very disappointing that despite many repeated requests, our privacy was hurt and people kept on sharing it further without any guilt. I would like to humbly request everyone again to kindly coordinate with us and not try to spoil our memorable big day.”

He also thanked Allah for his blessing upon him in the shape of a beautiful partner. He wrote: “Alhumdulillah, Almighty has been very kind and generous. May we always remain as a garment to each other?” He thanked his fans too, “Thank you everyone for the good wishes and for making our special day even better. Remember us in your special prayers.”
