Why has Qasim Ali Shah resigned as Lahore Arts Council chairman?

Famous educationalist and motivational speaker Qasim Ali Shah continues to grab attention after making divisive remarks about PTI leader Imran Khan.

Qasim Ali Shah has been appointed as Chairman Board of Governors of the Lahore Arts Council, despite the fact that the well-known motivational speaker is still dealing with the wrath of PTI supporters for his criticism of the former prime minister.

Shah posted about the development on social media. He is shown in the photo sitting in his new Lahore Arts Council office.

His appointment by the ruling alliance’s close ally and acting Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has drawn criticism online because it is believed that he was given the job because of his criticism of the PTI chairman.

Earlier, Qasim Shah stated his willingness to run for election on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ticket.

According to sources, Qasim Shah requested the party ticket when interviewing PTI Chairman Imran Khan at Zaman Park. Qasim Ali claimed that he intends to run for election from Gulshan Ravi Lahore, where he has lived since childhood.

Imran Khan assured QA Shah that he would be given a ticket. “The clean people should come to politics to lead the country instead of staying back,” Imran asserted.

In a video clip, former prime minister Imran Khan assured Qasim Ali that he will be given a ticket for his contributions.

But later, they grew differences when Qasim Ali Shah spoke against Imran Khan on a private tv channel.

Biography:

Qasim Ali Shah works as a motivational speaker and corporate trainer. He has also worked to promote tourism in Uzbekistan.

He is the founder of the nonprofit organization Qasim Ali Shah Foundation. In 2018 he was the chairman of the book fair Lahore Festival.

In 2020, he stated in an interview that girls should go to school in order to learn how to be good wives and mothers and that those roles are the “ultimate goals” of a woman’s life. Extracts from the interview were shared on Twitter and heavily criticized.
