The local police in Paban Sharif at Sheikh Bharkio road located some 15-20 kilometers away from Hyderabad have been very active in cutting trees, especially those trees which are very old.
These trees standing for long years are supportive for villagers during the summer season when there is no other way for people to protect themselves from sunstroke.
After the unprecedented 2022 flood, our government officials daily talk about climate change and the importance of trees to protect the environment but there is a huge difference between what the government says and does.
Can we imagine this anti-environmental work in developed countries by any state department? Trees play important role in maintaining a good environment but the Paban police are busy cutting trees and have continued this practice all over the area.
We demand that strict action should be taken against police officials who have been actively involved in this crime.
