The recent visit of the Israeli president to Turkey shows that Turkey is deriding the Muslim Ummah by fostering relations with Israel. On one hand, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan claims that Turkey will play the role of the leader of the Muslim Ummah after its shackles have been broken when the Treaty of Lausanne II expires in 2023.
On the other hand, Turkey is neither willing to part ways with NATO, a sworn enemy of the Muslims, but also appears to be willing to enhance relations with the illegitimate Zionist state of Israel.
This duplicity is the primary reason why the Muslim world is in doubt about the sincerity of the claims made by President Erdogan. The truth is that Turkish leaning towards the USA, EU, NATO, and particularly Israel is bound to be calamitous not only for Turkey itself but the entire Muslim Ummah.
Turkey must realize that its salvation rests with taking the path of Sultan Muhammad Fatih, not Atatürk. Muslims must rely on the Provider of Means (Allah), instead of worldly means themselves so that the forces of evil could be successfully confronted and the glorious past of the Muslims revived and restored.
Historically, Israel–Turkey relations were formalized in March 1949, when Turkey was the first Muslim-majority country to recognize the State of Israel. Both countries gave high priority to military, strategic, and diplomatic cooperation while sharing concerns with respect to the regional instabilities in the Middle East. Despite relations between the two countries have increasingly deteriorated in recent decades, the two countries normalized relations in 2022.
