QUETTA: At least 18 people were killed and four others were injured when a passenger van crashed into a ditch on the National Highway in the Quetta neighborhood of Qila Saifullah on Wednesday.
Hafiz Qasim Kakar, Deputy Commissioner of Qila Saifullah, confirmed the number of casualties and stated that the injured are being transported to the hospital. He stated that the deceased included both men and women.
According to the DC, the unfortunate van was traveling from Loralai to Zhob when it was involved in an accident near Akhterzai Adola. He stated that the district headquarters had declared an emergency.
However, he revealed that difficulty is being faced in rescuing the injured and recovering bodies due to the rocky terrain of the area.
