Rs88m has been allocated by the interim Punjab government to refurbish the helipad at PM Shehbaz’s Lahore residence, Model Town, according to the reports.
Punjab Cabinet Standing Committee on Law and Order (SCCLO) has allocated Rs88m for helipad at PM Shehbaz’s Lahore residence, despite the premier’s calls for national austerity in the face of a devastating economic crisis.
The money will be moved from a block allocation of the home department into the Lahore Deputy Commissioner’s Asaan Assignment Account.
In late March, the deputy commissioner informed the SCCLO about the approximate cost of pavement, control room, lighting system, generators, and civil works for the helipad.
The federal government is frantically trying to restart the halted IMF loan programme as foreign exchange reserves continue to decline, severely harming the import sector.
