No military base offered to China in Gwadar. In an interview with Stephen Sackur for HARDtalk, National Security Adviser Dr Moeed Yusuf stated that Pakistan has not provided China any military bases in Gwadar, Balochistan.

Dr. Yusuf, on the other hand, stated that China has economic bases in Pakistan where any country in the world can invest, and that “the same was also offered to the United States, Russia, and the Middle East.”

Sackur asked Yusuf if Pakistan’s tight ties with China had come at the expense of raising its voice for Muslims around the world, particularly in Xinjiang.

“You speak up for Kashmiri Muslims but refuse to denounce human rights violations in a Chinese province,” he said to Yusuf.
