Renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil was rushed to a hospital in Canada after he suffered a cardiac arrest.
His son Yousaf Jamil confirmed it on Twitter while pleading with followers to pray for a quick recovery for his father’s health.
The 69-year-old Islamic preacher’s condition, according to him, is stable.
As the development about his health was shared on social media, people wished him a speedy recovery.
A user wrote, “May Allah Grant Maulana sahib speedy recovery. I was planning to visit Toronto to meet him and attend RIS this weekend but due to weather was not able to”.

He was listed as the 32nd most powerful Muslim in the world in the 2023 edition of the magazine.
Tariq Jamil was born on 23 June 1953 in Mian Channu, in Pakistan’s southern Punjab.
Jamil belongs to a well-off Punjabi Rajput family of large landholders descending from Prithviraj Chauhan, a 12th-century ruler.
