The Foreign Office reported that Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence Lt. General Nadeem Anjum are in Afghanistan to discuss important border issues, particularly counterterrorism measures.
In its most recent trip to the war-torn nation, Pakistan’s top delegation on Wednesday met with Afghanistan’s acting deputy prime minister as terrorists continue to seek refuge in the neighbouring nation.
A high-ranking delegation led by the Minister for Defence is in Kabul today to meet with officials of the Afghan Interim Government to discuss security related matters including counter terrorism measures.

The recent visit comes at a time of heightened security concerns in areas bordering Afghanistan as TTP and other terror organizations escalated attacks on security forces.
The pictures doing rounds on the internet show the country’s top spymaster and Defence Minister meeting Afghan officials. Two sides reportedly discussed the promotion of bilateral ties, trade, regional links, and economic cooperation.
Mullah Baradar stressed the importance of fortifying ties between the two parties. He advocated for stronger economic and commercial ties between neighbouring nations. He also demanded that travellers, especially those in need of medical attention, be made to feel more comfortable passing through the Torkham and Spin Boldak gates, according to reports.
The delegation from Pakistan reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to aiding the Afghan people by building roads, trade routes, and other infrastructure.
