The administration of Attock Jail has decided to conduct a security audit of all staff members following an alleged “coded conversation” between a jail official and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
According to the sources, the recording of the jail official’s conversation with Khan revealed some words that the administration does not understand.
More than 150 prison staff members in Attock will have their biodata sent to the Special Branch and other institutions for security clearance.

Orders have also been issued to compile reports on employees posted in Attock jail who have received security clearance regarding their affiliation with any extremist organization and other activities, including political party affiliation, as soon as possible.
According to sources, the use of WhatsApp by jail staff has been prohibited following the implementation of geofencing.
The jail, which was built in 1906, usually houses more than 1,000 inmates. However, the jail currently houses over 700 inmates and only has C-class facilities.
According to the sources, a plan to transfer more than 100 prisoners to Adiala and other jails is also being considered due to security concerns.
Khan was arrested after an Islamabad court convicted him in the Toshakhana case and sentenced him to three years in prison.
During a meeting with his lawyer on Monday, the PTI chairman expressed his concerns about the prison’s environment, which included flies during the day and insects at night.
The party has also petitioned the Islamabad High Court to transfer him to Adiala and A-Class facilities.
