The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) chairman, Alamgir Sheikh, was the first to inform other players and officials. Majid’s brother Umar later confirmed the suicide.
Majid Ali, 28, was the runner-up in the Asian Junior Championship in 2013. He has also been a bronze medalist at World 6 Red Championship.

Details of Majid’s death are more shocking and horrifying.
Majid ended his life using a wood-cutting machine in his hometown, Samundri, near Faisalabad.
The local police reached the spot and collected the available evidence and started the investigation.
According to his brother, Majid had been melancholy for several years, but there were no evident explanations or financial concerns.
After learning of Majid’s death, the PBSA chairman expressed his shock.
“He was an exceptional talent, though recently out of rankings, he always showed great potential,” he told a private TV channel.
“We are saddened to know about his death, this is a big loss to the Pakistan snooker community,” he concluded.
This is the second devastating news in a month for the Pakistani snooker community, which was also mourning the death of Mohammad Bilal last month.
